The Scar Tree Walk is a journey connecting traditional and contemporary Aboriginal cultures and histories of the local Kulin Peoples. This gentle walk begins at the Koorie Heritage Trust and meanders through the Birrarung Wilam (Common Ground) Aboriginal art installations and continues over the William Barak Bridge that crosses Batman Avenue, where you will learn the history of these two significant figures who have shaped the history of Naarm/Melbourne. Once over the bridge you will enter a traditional Kulin Nation meeting place thousands of years old that has become a significant meeting place for all Melbourne residents today – the MCG. The walk finishes at the Scar Trees, a protected cultural heritage site.
