Our volunteer tutors and course leaders are the backbone of the organisation. They cover a wide variety of subjects and topics that makes U3A Melbourne City stand out from the crowd.
You don’t necessarily need have to have a background in teaching or lecturing, or be an expert in your field! If you are passionate about or have a strong interest in a particular subject – an interest that you think others might share – then consider convening your own special interest group by contacting one of our course coordinators to discuss your ideas or proposals.
We can help with the practicalities of getting your group established, and we provide a comprehensive handbook to guide you through the process of group facilitation.
Teaching equipment
Most venues have the appropriate equipment for teaching needs and our Members Centre also has equipment available for loan, including CD and DVD players, data projectors, laptops, speakers, slide projectors, etc.
Course coordinators
Course coordinators are available to discuss course proposals with prospective tutors and course leaders, and provide information about all aspects of running a course with U3A Melbourne City. They also organise course promotion in ebulletins, schedule classes, book rooms and arrange tutors meetings.
If you are interested in becoming a tutor or course leader, complete and submit the prospective tutor form.
Other Volunteering Opportunities
We are always happy to hear from our members who can contribute in other ways to the running of our organisation. If you have skills in Finance, IT through to Office Management and can spare some time we would be happy to hear from you. Read more about volunteering opportunities here.
