Awarded 2007
John was nominated for his longstanding contribution to U3A City as both an occasional tutor and valued participant in music and Shakespeare courses.
As fellow classmates wrote- John has only recently retired due to ill health. He has been a real stalwart in the Shakespeare course, bringing to bear his wide-ranging interests, his encyclopaedic reading and his dry sense of humour to every class he attended. He was a member of the earlier U3A Shakespeare course and, in fact, began his association with Elizabethan Theatre shortly after World War 11.
They also noted he had conducted a course on Wagner, and actively contributed to other music courses.
Based on this contribution to U3A City, John Cramp was awarded Life Membership in 2007.
