Awarded 2007

As a founding member of U3A City and longstanding French tutor, Marie was nominated for Life Membership by her students in 2007.

Marie joined the French class at its start, was joint tutor from 1991, and sole tutor for 13 years from 1993. In all that time she only missed a class once or twice. Her classes were prepared meticulously to a very high standard. She encouraged contribution from class members to a Degree standard (some of the class having a Doctorate, several former teachers). The variety and quality of her classes were second to none.

The class still continues thanks to her inspiration and love of France and the French language which she encouraged.

Based on her sustained and conspicuous level of contribution to the Languages program, Marie was awarded Life Membership of U3A Melbourne City in 2007
