Capitol Theatre Visit and Talk – Morning

22/02/2023 @ 10:30 am - 11:45 am

Originally built in 1924 by architects Marion Mahoney Griffin and Walter Burley Griffin. The Chicago-Gothic-Style theatre is considered their greatest interior design work. It has recently been restored to its former glory and opened in 2019 prior to Covid and then promptly closed. This is your opportunity to hear the background story.

Join Darren Brown, Operations Co-ordinator for RMIT Capitol Theatre and Kenneth Park for a special visit to the Capitol Theatre highlighting its history as well as revealing the conservation of the interior spaces and the incorporation of a very impressive new lighting system that brings to life the fabulous geometric theatre ceiling. Some of the proceeds will be donated to support the Capitol Theatre and the reinstallation of the organ.

The cost is $25 and the event lasts 1 hour 15 minutes. Bookings below through Trybooking now open. Trybooking link 10:30am
