Wendy Davenport (Member)

Wendy retired from the Australian Public Service in 2022 after 35 years with the Department of Immigration.  She spent twelve years working overseas at Australian embassies in Manchester, Berlin, Moscow, Shanghai and Bangkok, and the remainder of time in various positions in both Melbourne and Canberra.

Soon after, Wendy joined U3A Melbourne City and became involved as an office volunteer, a student and a tutor.  Her passion for European languages and travel has led to her joining a U3A Italian conversation class and delivering short courses about Berlin, women leaders in government, and the Romance languages.

Wendy enjoys the many rewards that U3A membership offers through ongoing learning in a wide range of subjects, sharing skills and experience, contributing to the management of the organisation, and engaging with interesting people from different walks of life.
