Margaret joined U3A Melbourne City in 2006 and was a valued member of the Committee of Management in 2007 & 2008.

In 2009 Margaret started volunteering in our office. During her time in the office, Margaret has participated in all the changes that have taken place, including the move to modern technology from Canopus to the MyU3A database. She has been a team leader for her Thursday shift and assisted with training the new office volunteers and has been a reliable and diligent office volunteer and contributor to the office environment.

Margaret also coordinated the mail out team. For a number of years, this team ensured our paper-based Newsletter was posted to all our members at least 4 times a year.

Margaret, having a love of Latin and poetry, became a joint Tutor/facilitator for the Latin Poetry course in 2016 and she continues today running the class via Zoom.

Margaret has shown an extraordinary commitment to U3AMC in the volunteer roles she has undertaken in the last 11 years. Based on the energy, innovation and commitment she has brought to so many volunteers roles since 2010, Margaret was commended for and awarded Life Membership of U3A Melbourne City
